It is possible to build real friendships in
cyber-space. Chad Goodbrand, aka EdmontonPup or just Pup, was our friend. More
than that, he was a part of our family. We loved to tease him, and he took all our well-meant abuse with good humour and quiet grace. That is unless he was giving back as good as he got. We watched him grow from a somewhat hesitant and introverted young man into a self-assured and competent adult. He had a talent and deep-seated desire to help others, whether it was with a computer problem, or a new idea. As a member of our family, we knew that he fought a constant battle with his diabetes. We mercilessly nagged him to take better care of himself, to test more, and eat better. We weren't even above calling the cops on him when we thought he was in danger. He was our friend and brother. To lose Chad so young is a tragedy. But our love for him will live on. We hope he likes the captions. We think he would. 10.01.06 The FIrst Annual Walk for Chad more>> |
